Kilcormac Development Association is proud to administer the Senior Alert Scheme on behalf of Pobal. This valuable initiative helps ensure the safety and well-being of older adults by providing a system for timely alerts and assistance in emergencies.

How It Works:

  • Download: Simply download the Senior Alert form directly from our website.
  • Submit: Once completed, you can drop it off at our office or send it in by mail, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Kilcormac Community Employment Scheme

Kickstart your career with the Kilcormac Community Employment Scheme – a fantastic opportunity sponsored by the Kilcormac Development Association and funded by the Department of Social Protection. Working 19.5 hours per week between Tullamore and Birr, you’ll gain valuable work experience, enhance your CV, and boost your confidence in a range of roles including administration, maintenance, reception, childcare, caretaking, and environmental work.

Who Can Apply?

  • Age: 21–55 (with special provisions for ages 55+ and 62+).
  • Status: Unemployed and receiving DSP payments (e.g. Jobseeker’s Benefit/Allowance, Transitional Payment, One-parent Family Payment, Deserted Wives Benefit, or Widow/Widower’s Pension) for at least 12 months.

 

Program Duration:

  • Typically 1 year, extendable up to 3 years if pursuing a recognised training qualification.
  • Ages 55+: Eligible for 3 consecutive years.
  • Ages 62+: Can continue until state pension eligibility (subject to availability).
