The Kilcormac Development Association (KDA) is a non-profit organisation committed to the betterment of Kilcormac and the wider community. Founded in 1982, we have been actively working towards creating a vibrant, thriving, and inclusive community for all. Our core values are community, innovation, and sustainability. Kilcormac Community Employment Scheme

Kickstart your career with the Kilcormac Community Employment Scheme – a fantastic opportunity sponsored by the Kilcormac Development Association and funded by the Department of Social Protection. Working 19.5 hours per week between Tullamore and Birr, you’ll gain valuable work experience, enhance your CV, and boost your confidence in a range of roles including administration, maintenance, reception, childcare, caretaking, and environmental work.

Who Can Apply?

  • Age: 21–55 (with special provisions for ages 55+ and 62+).
  • Status: Unemployed and receiving DSP payments (e.g. Jobseeker’s Benefit/Allowance, Transitional Payment, One-parent Family Payment, Deserted Wives Benefit, or Widow/Widower’s Pension) for at least 12 months.

 

Program Duration:

  • Typically 1 year, extendable up to 3 years if pursuing a recognised training qualification.
  • Ages 55+: Eligible for 3 consecutive years.
  • Ages 62+: Can continue until state pension eligibility (subject to availability).
